'MediRIS'

MediRIS is a full featured radiology information system, managing all data, procedures and workflow of radiological laboratories. The system supports all radiology procedures like patients registration, exams ordering, scheduling, work list generation, radiology templates, reporting and PACS interoperability via HL7 FHIR messages.

MediRIS guarantees a high level management, improving both cost benefit ratio and quality of services.

The Radiology Information System ‘MediRIS’ improves the daily workflow and increases the efficiency of the staff in radiology departments. It is seamlessly integrated using protocols such as HL7/FHIR, with the PACS system (picture archiving and communication system).

In addition interoperates with the hospital information system, exchanging patient information. In that way it provides the best workflow optimisation with the minimum input.

In complex Health Organizations interoperability with existing systems, is of prime importance.

Radiology Information System Features
  • Manages the orders entered manually or received automatically from HIS/EMR, by electronic messages using HL7/FHIR protocol.
  • Books appointments, with the capability of access from clinics or physicians.
  • Supports DICOM work list server, automating the transfer of patient’s data from HIS/RIS to modalities.

Managing appointments in a radiology clinic is more than filling time slots. Radiology clinics deal with constant pressure to manage time and accuracy together. There is need to coordinate patients, imaging machines, technicians, and radiologists. Last-minute cancellations disrupt the entire day.

Software must have the capability to align technicians, machines, and radiologists so nothing sits idle and no team feels overwhelmed. Schedule appointments should be based on modality availability, clinic capacity, and working hours. This helps prevent overbooking and ensures optimal use of imaging equipment.

Patient Arrival & Registration

  • Patient registration including family medical history with manual or automatic (via HL7/FHIR) entry.
  • Capability of documents attachment (pdf format) related to the exam (i.e. previous results from a different radiology lab).
  • Worklist automatically updated with pending exam orders.

Patient Examination

  • Availability to the technologist of patient data, history and alerts.
  • Inclusion of comments in the exam (use of consumables, radiation dose, exam duration, etc).

Reporting and Transcription

  • Reporting can be completed by the radiologist with typing.
  • Digital dictation and speech recognition options are available.
  • Transcription procedure is also supported.
  • Use of custom templates minimises user input.
  • Generation of statistical reports for a single patient, group of patients or particular procedure.

Automatic RIS/PACS data & display synchronisation.

Finally, MediRIS supports an automatic bidirectional synchronisation between RIS and PACS. That is when the radiologist switches to one patient either in PACS or RIS, then the second screen of the other application, automatically switces to show the relevant data, according to the selected patient at the first screen.

Above all, this is a huge advantage to the daily effort of radiologists, avoiding double selection of the same patient and his examination data, twice, on both RIS and PACS system.
