Software for L.I.S. interconnection to other hospital information systems.

The MiddleWare software is a parametric software for communication between two databases (RDBMS) of either the same or two different manufactors. The software undertakes the transport of the necessary data from one database to the other in real time. Its operation is transparent to the user, who simply notices the existence of the records concerning him, on his own database.

It supports unidirectional and bidirectional interconnection of messages between the two databases.

The use of the software allows the interconnection of different systems and the exchange of the necessary data between them. An illustrating example is the interconnection between a Laboratory Information System (LIS) and a Hospital Information System (HIS). On this specific case, MiddleWare undertakes the automatic transport of patients' data and the ordered tests from the HIS to the LIS. After the completion of the tests in the laboratories, it follows the opposite direction and updates H.I.S. medical record with the L.I.S.'s patients tests results.
